The California Workforce Association has released the Call for Presenters for the upcoming Annual Youth Conference in Long Beach, CA on January 18-20, 2011. This year's theme is Our Time Our Voice, relecting our commitment to rethink, redesign and reenergize our youth programs, especially for out-of-school and other vulnerable youth most impacted by the current economy. It will be a great opportunity for us to come together with youth and become an even stronger voice for the hundreds of thousands of disconnected and unemployed youth in our state and the millions more around the country. Please read the details for submitting a proposal and feel free to share the information with your colleagues. For additional information, contact John Baker, CWA Youth Conference Curator. The Workforce Investment Act provides the foundation through its system of Workforce Investment Boards and One-Stop Career Centers to address the workforce needs of all companies, both large and small. After twelve years of implementing the 1998 law in regions throughout California, much has been learned about what works and also about what can be done statutorily to better focus the system envisioned by Congress. The following report details CWA's WIA reauthorization recommendations.
CWA produces an annual Legislative Report that details CWA sponsored legislation and all bills that impact the workforce development system. This report is a complete look at all the bills we tracked this legislative session.
