San Diego Marriott Hotel & Marina
San Diego, CA Hooked at the Roots, this year's 2011 Spring Conference theme, focuses on interdependent connections. One of our greatest strengths is the partnerships and relationships with other organizations we have in our communities. Another is the network of individuals who are all working to catalyze private sector hiring, help businesses stay competitive, and put people back to work. This Conference will explore the roots that connect us together, what actions feed those roots, initiatives and projects that can strengthen the ties among us, and how building out a greater network of people and systems can help create jobs, build skills, and improve shared community outcomes.

The Workforce Investment Act provides the foundation through its system of Workforce Investment Boards and One-Stop Career Centers to address the workforce needs of all companies, both large and small. After twelve years of implementing the 1998 law in regions throughout California, much has been learned about what works and also about what can be done statutorily to better focus the system envisioned by Congress. The following report details CWA's WIA reauthorization recommendations.
CWA produces an annual Legislative Report that details CWA sponsored legislation and all bills that impact the workforce development system. This report is a complete look at all the bills we tracked this legislative session.
