Career Exploration
The Real Game California is designed to introduce participants to the
nature of the future they face, help them understand it and begin to
develop the career self management competencies needed to
confidently navigate the new world of work. Conducted in a group
setting of 10 or more participants over the course of 26+hours,
each participant adopts a simulated work role, and experience
situations that all adults face regularly. By learning about themselves
within these roles and with the assistance of support materials, group
discussion, active and reflective activities, and dialogue with fellow
players, participants gain a realistic understanding of adult life and
work.
Online Math/English Instruction
Stepping into Your Future is a strength based program, backed by
solid empirical research and empowers students to master concepts
necessary to succeed in school and beyond. The highly interactive
resources scaffold thelearning process and tie concepts to workforce
and career applications creating real world hooks and is available on
line 24/7. With on going research and evaluation (UCSB’s Center for
Inquiry & Literacy in Networking Communities, LINC) the program has
rapidly become a safety net program for California’s schools and
teachers.
This online program is a service of the K20 California Educational
Technology Collaborative, the innovation arm of the California Virtual
Campus at Butte College, and is funded by a grant from the California
Community Colleges System Office.
ePortfolio
ePortfolio California is committed to providing a seamless and scalable
ePortfolio solution for our state that best meets the needs of
institutions, faculty, and students. ePortfolios are innovative online
educational tools that allow institutions and learners to reflect on and
showcase their best work. This project is led by a team of experts who
are evaluating multiple ePortfolio applications, beginning with the
eFolio and xFolio applications developed by Minnesota State Colleges
and Universities and the Epsilen Learning Environment.
